Officials from Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis, say they have implemented more safety precautions in the wake of the killing of a nurse practitioner in one of the hospital's parking structures, according to an article on the CBS58 website.
A former valet who worked at Froedtert was arrested for the attack.
Hospital staff members say there are now patrols 24 hours a day in each parking lot and parking garage.
In 2017, of 5,542 homicides (roughly a third of the homicides nationwide reported to the FBI that year), 378 happened in a parking lot or garage, according to the FBI figures.
Froedtert has also added more security in building lobbies and have security escorts available.
