Mount Sinai plans $500 million modernization in N.Y.C.

Project will create a new Mount Sinai Downtown network

The Mount Sinai Health System is planning a $500 million modernization project in New York City, according to an article on the Healthcare IT News website.

The project will create a new “Mount Sinai Downtown” network and will consist of expanded and renovated outpatient facilities at three sites with more than 35 operating and procedure rooms and a network of 16 physician practice locations with more than 600 doctors, the article said.

The project will also include a major investment to support and strengthen behavioral health services.

Mount Sinai called the undertaking “a dramatic step toward a new model of care that continues to employ technology and stays focused on keeping populations healthy and out of hospitals.”
