N.Y. Hospital Sets Up Outdoor Visits For Elderly Patients

Rome Memorial Hospital helping its residents reconnect

The staff of Rome Memorial Hospital’s Residential Health Care Facility came up with a solution that satisfies state’s restrictions  helps to keep its residents  connected and safe, according to an article on the Rome Sentinel website.

The nursing home arranges socially distant outside visits under the protective cover of the hospital’s Bartlett Wing.

To maintain social distancing, the staff schedules visits at 15-minute intervals with two family members at a time. Everyone is required to wear masks.

Rockville Terrace Senior Living in California tackled by installing 8-by-8-foot visitation booths  with sheets of Plexiglas and slats of wood outside the facility, according to an article on the K5 website.

Residents’ family members can make 30-minute and one-hour appointments to use the booths, which separate residents from their guests with a Plexiglas barrier on three sides.
