NFMT event to include seminar on NFPA 45: Flammable liquids and other hazardous materials in laboratories

The 2017 National Facilities Management & Technology event offers three full days of education, speakers, networking with peers, and a giant expo hall. All for free.

This year's National Facilities Management & Technology (NFMT) event will include a seminar on NFPA 45: Flammable liquids and other hazardous materials in laboratories

This presentation will cover hazardous material requirements in laboratories as regulated by NFPA 45. NFPA 45 is the reference standard for fire protection of laboratories and is used to provide basic requirements for the protection of life and property from fire and explosions in laboratories. NFPA 45 establishes limits on hazardous materials and provides criteria to protect laboratory personnel.

Learning objectives:
1. Review applicable codes and associated terms and definitions used in NFPA 45
2. Understand the scope and application of NFPA 45
3. Learn how to apply NFPA 45 to the classification, design and construction of laboratories
4. Discuss the basic requirements in NFPA 45 for the proper storage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials

The session, scheduled for March 9 at 10:00 a.m. (EST), will be given by Clay Aler, Principal at Koffel Associates

The event will be held in Baltimore on March 7-9, 2017.

Check out the NFMT website for more information.
