This year's National Facilities Management & Technology (NFMT) event will include a seminar on NFPA 45: Flammable liquids and other hazardous materials in laboratories

This presentation will cover hazardous material requirements in laboratories as regulated by NFPA 45. NFPA 45 establishes limits on hazardous materials and provides criteria to protect laboratory personnel.

Learning objectives:
1. Review applicable codes and associated terms and definitions used in NFPA 45
2. Understand the scope and application of NFPA 45
3. Learn how to apply NFPA 45 to the classification, design and construction of laboratories
4. Discuss the basic requirements in NFPA 45 for the proper storage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials

The session, scheduled for March 9 at 10:00 a.m. (EST), will be given by Clay Aler, Principal at Koffel Associates

The event will be held in Baltimore on March 7-9, 2017.
