Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N. H., hospital locked down after a man shot his mother dead in the ICU, according to an article on the Union-Leader website.

The active-shooter alert forced an evacuation of staff and patients.

Police were first called to the Intensive Care Unit on the fourth level of the hospital's North building. 

Employees and patients were evacuated from the sprawling hospital campus. Police pushed them back several times. Some were bused to nearby facilities. Local schools were placed on lockdown.
