National Office Furniture’s Fordsville, KY, Facility Receives Governor’s Safety and Health Award

National Office Furniture, a unit of Kimball International, Inc., has been recognized with the Governor’s Safety and Health Award from the Kentucky Labor Cabinet. This award is presented to businesses and their employees with outstanding safety and health records across the Commonwealth. National’s Fordsville, KY, facility reached 504,474 production hours worked without a lost-time incident.

“One of the great privileges of serving the Commonwealth and Governor Matt Bevin is recognizing businesses and their employees for the outstanding achievement of fostering a safe and healthy work environment over the course of many thousands of hours,” said Labor Secretary David Dickerson. “I congratulate National for its long record of workplace safety, and I encourage others to look to National as an example to follow.”

“At National, we are very passionate about our vision of being ‘Injury Free,’” said National’s Fordsville Plant Manager John Ramburger. “Receiving the Governor’s Safety and Health Award is a tremendous honor and is evidence of our team believing in this vision. But the real worth of the effort embodied in this award is knowing that our people worked safely for a half-million hours and were able to go home to their families and enjoy life unhindered by injury.”

State Senator C.B. Embry, Jr. (Morgantown) and State Representative Scott Lewis (Hartford) also added praise, “What an amazing accomplishment for National,” Senator Embry said. “I am immensely proud of National for its devotion to the well-being of its employees, and I applaud the employees who worked diligently to make this award a reality.”

“The extraordinary workplace safety record set by National Office Furniture is the direct result of the commitment both the company and the employees have to maintaining a safe work environment,” added Representative Lewis. “I commend them for their efforts.”

By promoting excellence in occupational safety and health, Secretary Dickerson noted, Kentucky will continue to attract new businesses, encourage existing businesses to expand, and establish itself as a haven for anyone to work, to thrive, and to succeed.
