New children's hospital planned in Atlanta

New facility is being built to answer need for care


Children Healthcare of Atlanta (Ga.) is planning to build a new pediatric hospital. according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

Children’s is investing in facilities across its system as a part of its “Every Child Deserves Children’s” strategic plan to expand access.

In addition to the hospital, the system plans 46 new licensed beds and 14 observation beds at Scottish Rite hospital in 2017.

The expansion of the emergency department at Hughes Spalding hospital is also planned by the summer 2017.
