The first step is to lock down the hospital and issue a code yellow

The Ohio Valley Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio, is prepared for an active shooter, according to an article on the WTRF website.

The first step is to lock down the hospital and issue a code yellow.

Five senior staff members will start splitting up roles and the planning sections chief starts to notify staff. Nursing staff assigns triage rankings, and rushes patients to the trauma center.

The finance chief checks on supplies, making sure there is food available at the hospital for increased visitors.
