PDI Healthcare to Host Educational Session at 2016 Association for the Healthcare Environment Annual Conference

PDI, a provider of infection prevention products and solutions, today announced it will host a Lunch and Learn session at the 2016 AHE Exchange, held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh on Monday, Sept. 26, from 11:45 to 1:00 p.m.

The session, titled Understanding the Challenges of Disinfection and Material Compatibility: Proactive Approaches to Effective Cleaning and Disinfection, will feature healthcare surfaces expert Linda Lybert and Tom Hocker, Business Manager, Healthcare with SABIC. This interactive presentation will empower participants to have informed discussions about compatibility, as well as provide practical resources that will allow individuals to address the issue in their respective healthcare facilities.

“As healthcare facilities move toward more frequent and robust disinfecting agents to combat multi-drug resistant organisms, we’re seeing increased material failure on critical medical devices,” said Keith St. John, Vice President of Clinical Affairs at PDI. “Incompatibility not only results in increased costs and decreased efficiencies, but it also presents a risk to patient safety. We believe the responsibility for compatibility is a shared duty and are committed to promoting best practices around material compatibility, including targeted education forums such as AHE.”

From Sept. 25 to 28, AHE exhibitor booth #320 will feature PDI’s environment of care solutions, including its Sani-Cloth® portfolio of germicidal disposable wipes and accompanying educational materials. Specifically, PDI’s Sani-Cloth Bleach wipes are proven by independent research to be twice as compatible with materials commonly used in healthcare equipment, as compared to other bleach disinfectants.
