Prefabrication meets needs to quickly changing healthcare market

Prefab components have allowed healthcare facilities to be built faster and more efficiently


Prefabrication, also called off-site construction, has allowed healthcare facilities to be built faster and more efficiently in a quickly changing market, according to an article on the Colorado Real Estate Journal website.

According to Modern Healthcare’s annual Construction & Design Survey, participants predicted that healthcare industry growth would be the strongest in outpatient and retail clinics. Microhospitals are also popping up all over.

The trend toward smaller healthcare facilities aligns with the latest prefabrication innovations, the article said.

Contractors have found that prefabrication can shave weeks or months off of the standard construction schedule while also offering cost savings.
