Hospital leaders can staff to engage in simple behaviors to prevent cyberattacks, according to Paul Keckley, healthcare analyst and author of The Keckley Report.
His suggestions included:
• Ensuring that internet browsers, computer operating systems and applications are updated regularly
• Using strong, hard-to-guess passwords
• Not opening links or attachments that seem suspicious or come from unfamiliar sources
• Backing up important files on a routine basis
