QuietWalk eco-smart underlayment for floating wood & laminate floors quiets impact sound and floor to ceiling noise

MP Global Products’ QuietWalk® earth-friendly premium underlayment, made primarily from postindustrial/pre-consumer textiles diverted from landfill, is engineered specifically to enhance performance of today’s extremely popular floating wood and laminate floors. Meeting or exceeding IIC, FIIC, and STC sound ratings, it dampens ambient sound in the room it’s installed in and helps minimize impact and airborne sound from traveling into the room below.

QuietWalk filaments are randomly air-laid, creating a capillary effect to cushion the floor, absorb sound, and help floating floors sound more like fastened wood. QuietWalk also features an exclusive moisture management system that can wick away sub-floor or incidental perimeter moisture and disperse it throughout the pad.

QuietWalk adds 0.50 R-value to the flooring system, helping boost thermal insulation, keeping floors warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It is approved for use over radiant heated floors.

Ideal for installations where indoor air quality is a consideration, QuietWalk is odorless, hypoallergenic, and VOC-free. It is Indoor Air Certified through SCS and conforms to the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) – CA Section 01350.

SCS certified made from minimum 94% pre-consumer textile content, QuietWalk is LEED compliant and will contribute to MRc4.1-4.2 credits.

Insulayment

Insulayment acoustic underlayment is a perfect match for today’s new hardwood flooring options

Insulayment-2-72dpi May 19Hardwoods are more than holding their own in today’s flooring market, with homeowners selecting the classic flooring choice for kitchens and bedrooms as well as living rooms and dining rooms. Every new hardwood floor benefits from the smart start that MP Global Products’ high performing Insulayment® offers.

Engineered specifically for installation under glue-down or nail-down hardwood and engineered wood floors, the roll-out fiber underlayment is designed to dampen impact noise and decrease airborne sounds from traveling to the room below.

Insulayment is a very appealing choice for installations where concern for the environment is a consideration. The underlayment is certified made from 100% pre-consumer recycled textile content (textile waste that might otherwise end up in landfill). Plus, it is made in America, eliminating overseas shipping costs and minimizing transportation costs.

Insulayment features an innovative construction whereby randomly air-laid filaments create a capillary affect to cushion the floor and absorb impact sound. The 1/8 inch thickness helps smooth out little subfloor imperfections.

Using Insulayment with wood floors also helps improve walking comfort by dispersing the impact energy of each footfall to lessen the strain on knee and hip joints. In addition, the insulating value of Insulayment helps keep floors warm in the winter and cool in the summer, minimizing energy demands. Insulayment is available in 360 square foot and 100 square foot rolls.
