SRA to provide IT services to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

FAIRFAX, Va.—SRA International, Inc., a leading provider of IT solutions and professional services to government organizations today announced that it will provide technical service support for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR). The five-year, multi-award blanket purchase agreement is valued at $100 million if all options are exercised.

The OPHPR leads the CDC’s preparedness and response activities by providing strategic direction, support and coordination for activities across CDC as well as with local, state, tribal, national, territorial and international public health partners. Ensuring that states can adequately respond to threats will result in greater health security; a critical component of overall US national security.

“For the past 20 years, SRA has worked with the CDC to help the agency achieve its mission objectives,” said Health Group Senior Vice President Tom Nixon. “Our reputation as a leader in emergency preparedness makes SRA a great partner for the OPHPR project.”

Under the contract, SRA will provide professional and technical services to all OPHPR divisions and offices to assist CDC with its role in strengthening the nation’s health security and protecting against public health threats. Led by SRA Health Group’s Public Health Programs (PHP) business area, SRA will draw on resources from across the company to serve as a ready source of management and technical expertise to support projects related to strategic planning, organizational development and project management among others. The win represents a key component of the Health Group’s strategic objectives.

Health has been a core market for SRA work since the company’s founding in 1978. As a leading service provider to the public and private sector health market in areas of health research, health care, Veterans Affairs, military health and public health programs, SRA offers solutions that leverage prominent thought leadership and innovation in health IT, clinical research, disease surveillance and prevention, and healthcare programs.
