STANLEY Partners with Mountain States Health Alliance to Benefit Regional Wellness Program

STANLEY Security has partnered with Mountain States Health Alliance to benefit a major pediatric and general wellness initiative throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

STANLEY, a leading global integrator of comprehensive security solutions for a wide range of industries, and Mountain States, a 13-hospital health system serving 29 counties in Central Appalachia, will work together to create programs that tackle some of the area’s most pressing issues, including drug abuse, obesity and education.

To kick off the partnership, STANLEY will be the premier sponsor of the 2017 Niswonger Children’s Hospital Classic, an annual fundraiser consisting of several community events and a golf tournament to be held Sunday, June 26. Dozens of celebrities and athletes – including PGA TOUR players – attended last year’s Classic golf tournament, which was won by PGA TOUR pro Peter Malnati.

The Classic is Niswonger Children’s Hospital’s biggest fundraiser, and has raised over half a million dollars each of the past two years.  Those funds will benefit the only children’s hospital serving Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, allowing the hospital to improve the health of children through initiatives targeting newborn drug dependency and childhood obesity as well as programs that educate children about lifelong wellness.

As the area’s only children’s hospital, Niswonger Children’s Hospital serves more than 200,000 children living in a 29-county, four-state region.

In addition to sponsoring the Classic, STANLEY also plans to collaborate with Mountain States on several other general wellness initiatives, including early literacy and childhood physical fitness programs.

“STANLEY is incredibly proud to partner with Mountain States to develop programs that address the region’s specific wellness and pediatric needs,” said Kyle Gordon, Vice President of Business Development, Commercial Strategy for STANLEY Black & Decker.  “We’re excited to get started on these important programs, which we feel will make a huge impact on this area.”

“We are committed to serving our communities, and this partnership with STANLEY is one more way we’re reaching outside of the hospital walls to improve health and wellness throughout the Appalachian region,” said Alan Levine, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mountain States Health Alliance.

The 2017 tournament will take place at The Olde Farm Golf Club in Bristol, Virginia.  To learn more about the Classic, visit www.NiswongerGolf.org.  To learn more about Mountain States Health Alliance and the services it provides, please visithttps://www.mountainstateshealth.com.  For more information about STANLEY Security, please visit www.stanleycss.com.
