Second Va. senior facility reports respiratory illness outbreak

The county health department says there doesn’t appear to be a link between the outbreaks


A second Fairfax County, Va., retirement community has reported an unusual outbreak of a mysterious respiratory illness, according to an article on the WJLA website.

The county health department says there doesn’t appear to be a link between te outbreaks.

The Greenspring Retirement Community and another longterm care facility, Heatherwood, in Burke, have been affected.

The Centers for Disease Control tested 17 samples from Greenspring residents who had gotten sick, but no common link was found that could identify what the mystery illness was.
