‘Security Incident’ Shuts Down Sonoma Valley Hospital Computers

Incident triggered 'significant downtime'


On Oct. 11, the Sonoma Valley Hospital is Sonoma, Calif., experienced a “security incident” shut down its computers, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.

In an October 22 statement, the hospital said the  incident “triggered a significant downtime event.”

Sonoma Valley has continued to operate  while computer systems are being fully restored, there there have been delays scheduling and getting results from tests.

The hospital did not specify what caused the security incident or if it was ransomware.
