Security reviewed after apparent murder-suicide at NY hospital

An investigation will be conducted into how the man entered with the handgun


Security procedures are being reviewed after an armed man walked into Westchester Medical Centerand fatally shot a female patient in her bed before turning the gun on himself, according to an article on the New York Post website.

Officials said armed security guards are stationed at every entrance to the building, though no comprehensive searches are conducted of visitors.

An investigation will be conducted into how the man entered with the handgun.

The building where the shooting happened is “very well-guarded,” on staff member said, and many areas cannot be accessed without badges.
