Solar power is trending in healthcare energy management

Solar power is being used at more and more healthcare campuses

Solar is being used at more healthcare campuses and is an increasingly popular way of reducing energy costs and, providing a reliable source of backup power, according to an article on the FaciltyCare website.

“The cost of solar has dropped dramatically and the efficiency — or how much it can produce per square foot per area — has increased dramatically,” according to Ryan Park, director of business development for REC Solar

Just installing photovoltaic panels alone isn’t going to create a backup energy source; it’s going to reduce your utility use. For solar to become a backup energy option, it’s necessary to install battery storage.

The relatively high cost of battery storage is beginning to come down, the article said.
