The Regional Medical Center (RMC) Orangeburg Hospital in Orangeburg County, S.C., officials have seen a big increase in COVID-19 cases over the last two months, according to an article on the News 19 website.
As of July 27, the hospital currently had 54 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and 30 employees that were out due to COVID-related issues.
Throughout the course of the pandemic, the RMC has had 69 employees impacted by the virus.
RMC also concerned about staffing because of the current hurricane season and with flu season on the way.
The South Carolina National Guard is tasked with raising the tents, according to an WRDW article. South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Control will inspect the tents after utilities and medical equipment are installed.
