Spirax Sarco evolves RIM10 to RIM20

Spirax Sarco USA, a provider in products and service for steam system management, announces the evolution of the RIM10 to RIM20 Rotor Insertion Flowmeter. The RIM20 utilizes a common electronics platform that is now available in all the new 20 Series Meters to improve reliability and ease of use across the product line.

The RIM20 provides the same great features and benefits as the RIM10 utilizing a SMART multivariable electronics for measurement of mass or volumetric flow, density, temperature and pressure in one instrument. Typical applications include measurement of steam and natural gas flows for fiscal or load control and heat flow calculations for chilled, hot water and a variety of other liquids and gases in line sizes from 3 to 80 in.

Hot-tappability makes possible installation and service without process shutdown. The RIM20 produces a negligible pressure drop, reducing energy and operation costs.

The RIM20 low-mass rotor design is fabricated from a single solid block of stainless steel, with no welded joints. There are six field-installable cartridges with different turbine pitches with NIST traceability. This field configuration versatility, plus a wide 25:1 turndown, enables the flowmeter to match flow rates precisely.
