Study identifies sites where spores persist

Clostridium difficile is primarily found in floor corners after disinfection, according to an article on the Becker's Clinical Leadership and Infection Control website.

A recent study identified environmental places where spores survived despite cleaning and disinfection.

Before and after terminal or hydrogen peroxide disinfection, researchers sampled 16 sites representing high-frequency contact or difficult-to-clean surfaces.

The study found that C. diff survived most frequently in floor corners (29 percent).
