Survey shows hospitals differ in levels of cybersecurity

Eighty percent of providers acknowledge a recent 'significant security incident'


A HIMSS cybersecurity survey reported that 80 percent of providers have experienced a recent “significant security incident,” according to an article on the Fierce Healthcare website.

Because of this, more organizations plan to make security a top business priority.

Challenges include: phishing attacks, virus/malware incidents and proactively addressing the results of a risk assessment.

According to the poll, acute care providers, were significantly more likely to use tools such as patch and vulnerability management tools, mobile device management and single sign-on.
