T&S Brass receives top South Carolina manufacturing award

T&S Brass and Bronze Works was named recipient of the 2016 Silver Crescent Award, the most prestigious award for manufacturers in South Carolina. The award is presented to select manufacturing companies that demonstrate superior performance in a number of areas.

“T&S is honored to receive this recognition of our work. We strive every day to ensure we’re having a positive impact — on our employees and customers, on our community and on our environment,” said Claude Theisen, owner of T&S. “We’re proud to be a world-class manufacturing operation.”

Criteria for the Silver Crescent Award included citizenship, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, environmental stewardship, innovation, financial performance and longevity plan.

T&S Brass was recognized for exemplary performance in multiple areas, including its leading role in the creation of the George I. Theisen YMCA, named for the company’s founder and established through fundraising efforts and with a donation from T&S.

Annual Compliance Excellency Awards from wastewater management agency ReWa, employee-based Continuous Improvement Teams, and company support of local organizations such as Greenville Technical College and the Greenville County Disabilities and Special Needs Board were recognized as markers of T&S’ leading role in South Carolina manufacturing.

Applicants were judged by members of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME).

T&S Brass is a leading manufacturer of faucets, fittings and specialty products for the foodservice, industrial, commercial plumbing and laboratory markets. Founded in 1947, T&S has made its home in South Carolina since 1978.

The Silver Crescent Award was presented at the annual South Carolina Manufacturing Conference and Expo in Greenville on April 21.
