A $50 million mixed-use medical center to be developed in San Antonio, Texas, from a homeless shelter, according to an article on the San Antonio Business Journal website.
The Center for Health Care Services plans to save the brick facade of the structure, which was formerly the Grand Central Hotel and later a SAMMinistries shelter for homeless individuals.
The interior of the building has been demolished and a new three-story facility will be constructed inside the old shell.
The ground floor of the new development will house adult outpatient mental health services and storefront retail space.
