The Centers for Disease Control or Prevention (CDC) estimates that there have been 13.2 million to 15.2 million flu illnesses this season, according to an article on the Becker's Clinical Leadership & Infection Control website.
The CDC's estimates also say there have been 6.2 million to 7.2 million flu medical visits and 155,000 to 186,000 flu hospitalizations so far.
The percentage of outpatient visits for influenza-like illness increased to 4.3 percent for the week ending Feb. 2, above the national baseline of 2.2 percent.
All 10 regions reported influenza-like illness at or above their region-specific baseline level.
