The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently reported that as of April 30, there were 684 cases of Candida auris in the U.S., according to an article on the Becker's Clinical Leadership and Infection Control website.
The case count jumped by 71 in the span of one month from March 31.
Illinois, New Jersey and New York are still reporting the highest number of cases. New York has the most with 334 confirmed and four probable cases.
C. auris cases also have been reported in Australia, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Germany and India.
