UG2 Achieves Prestigious CIMS-GB Certification for Green Cleaning

UG2 announced it has earned ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (GB) certification with Honors. Awarded by the worldwide cleaning industry association, this is a significant achievement for the integrated facilities services company.

Compliance with the standard demonstrates the comprehensive development and implementation of operating policies and procedures to deliver consistent, professional services designed to meet customer expectations and to deliver a comprehensive green cleaning program aligned with LEED EB: O&M green cleaning criteria. CIMS and CIMS-GB certifications are required in many cleaning service bid specifications as customers look for an effective way to identify high-quality providers committed to customer satisfaction.

“This is a remarkable affirmation of the commitment UG2 has shown toward environmentally sound services for our customers,” says Louis J. Lanzillo, CEO at UG2. “We are honored to receive this significant certification from our industry’s top association, and we feel that it reflects the hard work and consistent customer focus of every team member at UG2.”

Independent, accredited assessors verify CIMS and CIMS-GB certified firms meet the industry standard for:

  • Quality systems
  • Service delivery
  • Human resources
  • Health, safety, and environmental stewardship
  • Management commitment
  • Green building

Recently, CIMS-GB became a direct compliance option to meet the green cleaning policy prerequisite of Version 4 of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) revised Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED EB: O&M) rating system.

“Achieving this certification was a long, complex process, and it is very exciting to receive this recognition,” says John Correia, COO at UG2. “Not every company that seeks this certification achieves it. This reflects our effective management framework and operational efficiency, which both work to serve our customers in distinctive ways.”
