Study says ultraviolet lights over computer mice and keyboards reduces bacteria 99 percent

A recent study found ultraviolet lamps installed over computer mice and keyboards reduced bacteria 99 percent, according to an article on the Becker's Infection Control & Clinical Quality website.

Cultured samples from 203 mice and keyboards in intensive care units revealed that 193 of them (95.1 percent) had bacteria growth.

The hospital installed automated UV-C lights over the computer mice and keyboards in the ICUs.

After installation, 205 keyboards and mice were sterile, while 13 had bacterial growth.
