SEIU Healthcare Minnesota proposed a compromise to Mayo Clinic that could end the ongoing labor fight over plans to subcontract Mayo's food-service department, according to an article on the Post-Bulletin website.
The union wants Mayo to choose any management team or food-service program to create menus and organize the dietary department and ensure all dietary workers remain Mayo employees.
In exchange, SEIU is offering to pay up to $25,000 to train its members on the new program and menus.
Mayo has said the staffing change is about "creating efficiency and consistency and ensuring the highest quality possible for the food and nutrition services throughout Mayo Clinic."
