Since emergency departments provide acute care without an appointment, predicting when a behavioral health patient will come in is impossible.

Many emergency departments have prepared a behavioral health protocol for their facilities. Plus, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Clarification of Ligature Risk Policy memo means each facility will need to see how it's applicable for their circumstances.
