To increase accessibility for veterans living in remote areas, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently announced that the VA plans to announce State Veterans Home Construction Grant Program modifications this year, according to an article on the American Security News website.
The changes are designed to make it easier to construct facilities in rural areas.
Current regulations revolve around demographics in addition to demand, so far-flung areas often fall short in the competition for the construction grants.
Revisions to the program requirements are expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
