Veeva Systems acquires AdvantageMS healthcare data provider

PLEASANTON, Calif. & FORT WASHINGTON, Pa.—Following Veeva Systems’ recent unveiling of Veeva Network, the life sciences industry’s first cloud-based customer master solution, the company has acquired national healthcare data provider, AdvantageMS. The acquisition adds a database of more than seven million active healthcare providers (HCPs), healthcare organizations (HCOs) and affiliations across the United States to Veeva Network. This acquired data, combined with Veeva’s advanced cloud software and data stewardship services, provides life sciences companies with an accurate, up-to-date view of their customers in one solution.

Historically, life sciences organizations have struggled to stitch together sets of non-standardized data from a myriad of sources. Generating a single source of the truth about customers that’s accurate, kept up-to-date and accessible to users has proven to be expensive, time consuming and yet still elusive for most. With Veeva’s acquisition of AdvantageMS, Veeva Network will provide pharmaceutical companies with accurate information on their customers without the complicated patchwork of systems, data and staff. Additionally, Veeva Network is integrated with Veeva CRM, so data is fully accessible to sales and marketing users for improved efficiency.

“AdvantageMS is an organization of great people and their data is one of the most reliable sources of U.S. healthcare data, trusted by life sciences organizations of all sizes for over a decade,” said Peter Gassner, president and CEO of Veeva Systems. “We are thrilled to have AdvantageMS join the Veeva team.”

AdvantageMS also provides Veeva Network with data compliance services and one of the most detailed HCP email lists available, with over 500,000 verified records. The database is 100% permission-based and contains workplace email addresses, including hard-to-find group practice and hospital-based emails. As a result, life sciences companies will be able to reliably extend their digital outreach programs.

“Like AdvantageMS, Veeva is dedicated to customer success. By combining our data and services with the Veeva Network application we will deliver exceptional value to our joint customers,” explained Richard Johnston, CEO of AdvantageMS.

AdvantageMS customers will continue to receive existing data services, while joint Veeva and AdvantageMS customers will be able to benefit from the strategic acquisition through Veeva Network – planned for general availability throughout the United States and China in late 2013, with other markets to follow.

Veeva Network is part of the Veeva Commercial Suite, an integrated suite of cloud-based, advanced applications to help life sciences companies to achieve their commercial goals.
