An independent report on the coronavirus outbreak at Boston’s Holyoke Soldiers’ Home found wards with both infected and uninfected patients, according to an article on The New York Times website.
The report on a state-run veterans’ home showed “a facility in chaos.” Workers at the facility, the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home, remembered the days in late March as “total pandemonium” and a “nightmare,” the article said.
One social worker told investigators that she “felt like it was moving the concentration camp, we were moving these unknowing veterans off to die.”
The report also mentions other errors, including the rotation of staff members between wards, accelerating the spread of the virus.
