Virginia shopping site to become 'a healthcare destination'

Riverside Center retail shopping center is being remade into the Riverside Medical Center

An Albemarle County, Va., shopping center that once housed retail outlets such as pizza parlors and building suppliers, will soon reopen as a medical center, according to an article on The Daily Progress website.

The former Riverside Center retail shopping center is being remade into the Riverside Medical Center.

“People will be able to see their doctor without having to navigate stairs, without having to navigate elevators or a parking deck, and park very conveniently and be dropped off under cover,” the developer said.

A restaurant will be the only pre-construction, non-medical tenant that will stay. It will provide a food service location on site for patients and doctors and will double in size.
