Washington healthcare organization builds $21 million emergency and specialty services building

Jefferson Health Care opened a new 52,900-square-foot facility in Port Townsend

Jefferson Health Care opened a new 52,900-square-foot emergency and specialty services facility in Port Townsend, Wash., according to an article on the Healthcare Construction + Operations website.

The building improves upon its previous design by providing central locations for patients to visit when seeking outpatient services related to emergency room visits, oncology, orthopedics, cardiology, lab tests and diagnostic imaging, the article said.

The hospital’s main entrance includes a foyer filled with natural light and open space.

The cancer treatment space on the third floor overlooks Port Townsend Bay and a green roof of sedum plants can be seen from the second and third floors. There are also raised garden beds for the dietary team to grow herbs.
