Zoneworks' TZF insulated curtain wall provides enhanced fire resistance

By Healthcare Facilities Today

Rite-Hite has introduced the Zoneworks® TZF Insulated Curtain Wall, which offers enhanced flame resistance to the existing TZ series of insulated curtain wall products. The internal carbon fiber construction of the TZF Curtain Wall limits smoke and flame spread, meeting NFPA Class A standards.

The Zoneworks TZF wall is intended for applications where temperature separation or control with some fire resistance is desired or required. It is not intended to be a replacement for a rigid fire wall. However, the complete curtain has been tested per ASTM E84 – the standard for smoke developed and flame spread properties. In testing, the TZF maintained a flame spread of 25 or less, and smoke developed less than 450, and thereby performs within the NFPA Class A rating.

A highly flexible and adaptable system that allows users to quickly and easily partition large interior spaces where temperature and energy savings are essential, Zoneworks' TZ insulated curtain walls eliminate the need to construct rigid, permanent insulated walls, producing significant savings in time and money.

Constructed of durable, fire-retardant industrial fabric surrounding multiple layers of anti-microbial polyester batting, TZ insulated curtain walls can deliver 40°F (22°C) or more of temperature separation (the TZF provides up to 35°F of temperature separation). In addition to helping save energy and lower construction costs, the flexible modular wall systems can also be reconfigured to adapt virtually any interior space to an operation's changing needs. Because they have a smaller footprint than permanent walls, the TZ system also saves valuable floor and rack space in temperature-controlled warehouses and cooler/freezers.

Easy to install and maintain, Zoneworks' custom-designed insulated curtain walls can be mounted to existing ceiling structure, or designed with a custom framework. Three- or four-sided structures can also be created. Zoneworks industry specialists provide on-site design consultation and complete drawings, as well as turnkey project support, including installation coordination.

With its Zoneworks line of soft walls, Rite-Hite provides industry leadership in custom-designed fabric curtain wall systems for all types of space separation and environmental containment needs in industrial and commercial facilities. All Zoneworks products are designed and manufactured in the United States and meet one or more of these standards: NFPA-701, ASTM-E-84, FMVSS 302 and CFM.
