Outpatient facility rehabs second location instead of starting from scratch

Rehabbed project cost a fraction of new construction

A Montana surgery center recently expanded into a rehabbed facility for a fraction of what new construction would have cost, according to an article on the Outpatient Surgery website.

The Yellowstone Surgery Center in Billings added a new location to handle joints patient volume, but also to piggyback a developing spine service.

The shuttered facility featured an imaging center, a large clinic space and a single-OR surgery center and was also outfitted to accommodate overnight stays.

In addition, a local health system had plans to build a medical campus in the same area and viewed the renovation project as an opportunity to expand their services with very little investment.
