Natural, neutral colors trending for healthcare spaces

Paint colors can help facility managers create a positive patient experience


Evidence-based design research confirms the healing and calming powers of organic, natural colors when used in a healthcare setting, according to an article on the FacilityCare website.

Choosing the right colors can create a functional, attractive design. Some examples include:

• Soft and warm neutral hues are reminiscent of homelike spaces and communicate a sense of rest and security.

• Color can aid residents who are experiencing decreasing vision or stimulate patients with decreasing memory.

• Aging eyes add a tint of yellow to what they see. So, bright colors such as sunset oranges work well as a wayfinding tool.
