Carrier RTU Open Controller now available for 48/50LC WeatherExpert 6- to 23-ton units

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Carrier has released its RTU Open multi-protocol network controller for the 48/50LC WeatherExpert™ 6- to 23-ton rooftop models, making the entire lineup of WeatherExpert 3- to 23-ton units now available with this factory-installed option. Carrier, the world’s leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Carrier’s RTU Open controller is a factory-certified, tested and integrated controller that continuously monitors and operates the packaged rooftop unit to help optimize efficiency and comfort control while providing superior reliability.

This advanced controller also features a sophisticated, field-tested control algorithm that helps provide optimum performance and energy efficiency. The RTU Open controller features plug-and-play connectivity to the Carrier i-Vu System, is capable of stand-alone operation for added flexibility and can be integrated with any building automation system utilizing the BACnet, Modbus, Johnson N2 or LonWorks protocols.
