DesignGroup, Ohio State Work Together to Design Innovative Sports Medicine Institute

The first school to bring multiple, interrelated sports medicine disciplines under one roof -- The Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute demonstrates an innovative approach to sports medicine, where more than 15 interdisciplinary specialties and patient services are brought together. Nearing completion in fall 2016, the goal is to create a new, innovative building with a flexible design for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC).
Architectural and design firm, DesignGroup, worked closely with Ohio State to plan and design the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute. It will provide expanded space for Sports Medicine’s collaborative programs of healthcare, athletics, education, training and medical research.
The facility will include:

·         multiple clinical and surgical suites
·         a motion analysis and performance lab
·         Functional physical therapy space for various sports, including a real dance floor and barre and batting cage
In addition to these features, scheduling, patient exams and consultation and imaging will all be located in this three-story facility.
This project showcases the national leadership that The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has in sports medicine care and research.
