Leviton expands VerifEye line of Smart Meters with Series 4000 industrial-class meter

Melville, New York – Leviton announced the expansion of its revenue-grade line of VerifEye™ submetering solutions with the introduction of its Series 4000 Industrial ModBus Smart Meter. Combining exceptional performance and easy installation for three-phase systems, the Series 4000 submetering kits offer a turnkey solution for measuring and verifying electrical usage across a range of industrial, commercial, institutional and government cost-allocation, and energy-conservation applications.

Exceptionally robust and versatile, the VerifEye Series 4000 meters provide universal voltage and CE safety compliance, wall and DIN Rail mounting options (with an optional NEMA 4X enclosure for outdoor applications), and an advanced communications architecture for seamless integration with building automation and energy management systems. The Series 4000 is the ideal choice for revenue-grade applications requiring flexible mounting options, voltage and frequency range variances, site-level load size variations, and compliance with 50Hz and 600V applications.

“The global demand for building owners to comply with energy codes, responsibly account for energy consumption and accurately bill tenants has given rise to the need for highly flexible, cost-effective submetering solutions across a range of international compliance and performance standards,” said Richard Westfall, vice president and general manager, Leviton

Lighting & Energy Solutions. “The Series 4000 provides our customers with an unparalleled combination of industrial-class functionality, ease of installation and cost efficacy.”

VerifEye Series 4000 meters communicate using ModBus RTU open protocols for interoperability with automatic meter reader systems (AMR), building automation systems (BAS), building management systems (BMS) and energy management information systems (EMIS).

The system complies with all regulatory electric safety requirements and conforms with stringent ANSI C12.20 +/-0.5 percent class standards. Engineered to stand up to the most demanding environmental requirements, the Series 4000 withstands temperature extremes from 22°F to 158°F (-30°C to 70°C) and a voltage range of 90V to 600V, including 347V (L-N) and 600V (L-L). In addition to split core current transformers (CTs), the Series 4000 also offers Rogowski rope-style CTs for ratings of 20A-5000A in a variety of lengths.

The Series 4000 can be used as part of a submetering solution to benchmark usage, allocate costs, efficiently bill tenants and comply with green buildings initiatives and government mandates. When used with Leviton’s Energy Management Hub (EMH), users can seamlessly integrate with VerifEye’s web-based or PC-based software platforms. The software allows a building owner or facility manager to allocate energy inefficiencies in real time and easily generate bills.

The Series 4000 Smart Meters are UL Listed, cULus, ANSI C12.20 certified and backed by Leviton’s Limited Five-Year Warranty.
