Small towns getting large healthcare projects

Three new $300 million hospital projects planned

Three new $300 million hospital projects are being planned in smaller towns, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

“These projects are large in scale and bring in national firms to design and manage construction,” said Hilda Martin, principal at Revista. a healthcare real estate data and statistics firm.

For instance, UP Health System and Duke Lifepoint recently broke ground on a large hospital with an adjoining 80,000-square-foot medical office building in Marquette, Mich.

And Intermountain Healthcare, Salt Lake City, just began an expansion of its Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah, that will add 406,000 square feet.
