The former Copley Hospital, in Aurora, Ill., will be getting a $110 million retrofit, according to an article on Healthcare Construction + Operations website.
The redesigned campus is expected to house medical offices, senior citizen housing and residencies for adults with disabilities.
The campus consists of eight buildings constructed between 1888 and the 1970s, but the complex was abandoned in 1995.
Plans for the site include more than 100 senior-living units, an independent living apartment complex for adults with cognitive disabilities and a health care center.
