A new study says older adults who with natural spaces have better feelings of renewal, restoration and spiritual connectedness


A new study says older adults living near natural spaces have better feelings of renewal, restoration and spiritual connectedness, according to a blog on the McKnights website.

Researchers at the University of Minnesota and Vancouver said having “blue” (waterfront) and “green” (parks and gardens) spaces can impact seniors

The accessibility of green and blue spaces provokes seniors into going outside, which can help them become more active, the study said.

This type of research that can push planners and builders into developing different types of communities, the blog said.
