Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital Deploys Vocera Technology Enterprise-Wide to Improve Communication and Pediatric Care

Vocera Communications, Inc., a recognized leader in clinical communication and workflow solutions, today announced that Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital – the first dedicated children’s hospital in the United Arab Emirates – is the first hospital in Dubai to implement Vocera technology enterprise-wide. The Vocera solution enables physicians, nurses and other care team members at the 200-bed hospital to connect and collaborate using secure text messaging and hands-free voice communication. Depending on each clinician’s preference and patient case scenario, hospital staff can choose to use the Vocera smartphone application or the wearable Vocera Communication Badge to connect.

Al Jalila Children’s is part of Dubai Healthcare City, an urban healthcare landmark where individuals and corporations come together to advance healthcare services, engage with the community, and enjoy the energy of the central healthcare districts. Intersecting smart technology with world-class design, the hospital deployed Vocera technology throughout the new hospital in 28 units. In a few short months, healthcare leaders and frontline staff reported significant improvements in clinical workflows, staff response times, and patient care delivery.“We selected the Vocera Platform as it matches our vision to be among the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the world,” said Dr. Mohamed Al Awadhi, chief operating officer at Al Jalila Children’s. “The solution’s intuitive staff directory combined with the flexibility of using smartphones or the hands-free communication badge makes it faster and easier for our care teams to connect and communicate, freeing up more time to deliver direct care to children in need.”

“We are proud to be selected by Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital and support its mission to be a leader in pediatric care,” said Brent Lang, president and CEO of Vocera. “We look forward to this partnership as a way to set the standard in healthcare communication across the globe.”
