Almost every Edmonton health facility found with infrastructure problems

Alberta Health Services review shows infrastructure problems exist at every Edmonton-area health facility

An Alberta Health Services review shows infrastructure problems exist at every Edmonton, Canada, health facility, according to an article on the Global News website.

At some of the biggest hospitals, those problems hamper staff’s ability to treat patients, the article said.

AHS has released two reports: “Phase 1 Current State report” provides a snapshot of the current condition of 18 Edmonton facilities, and “Edmonton Zone 2030 Plan” looks at potential strategies to improve service delivery and relieve capacity pressures at those facilities.

The reports comment on issues including capacity issues, poor design and inefficiencies for many of the facilities. The reports suggest in some instances, the buildings lead to surgery and cancer treatment delays.
