Arrow's new key rotation indicator rose gives lever lock an additional level of security

Salem, Va. – Underscoring its commitment to provide the highest levels of security and versatility for the broadest array of commercial applications, Arrow, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, today introduced the Key Rotation Indicator Rose for use on the QL97 series classroom intruder lockset. The Key Rotation Indicator Rose is a standalone component that easily retrofits on to the QL97 Lockset.

The QL is a robust, BHMA Grade 1 Certified freewheeling lever lock.  With a simple two-screw install, the QL lockset allows for quick installation and can retrofit any existing door. The QL is available in an array of finishes and functions, including the 97 “Classroom Intruder” function.

The 97 Function uses a key to lock and unlock the door from the inside of a classroom. In an emergency situation, it allows the teacher to use their key to lock the outside lever from inside the classroom thereby preventing unauthorized entry. Because it requires a key, it prevents the students from accidentally locking the teacher out of the classroom. The inside lever is always free for emergency egress.

The new Key Rotation Indicator Rose adds an additional benefit to the teacher by providing clear direction to which way to turn the key to lock the door in an emergency situation. The Indicator gives additional reassurance to teachers that doors are, in fact locked.

“The clear visual direction provided by the Key Rotation Indicator Rose for the QL97, helps to insure the outside door handle is in the locked position. This is a simple and inexpensive upgrade that greatly enhances classroom security,” states Ben Sultze, Arrow Lock and Hardware Business Development Manager.

Arrow’s QL Series cylindrical lever locks are ANSI/BHMA A156.2, Series 4000. The QL lever locks are U.L and c.U.L listed for use on 3 hour, ‘A’ label or lesser doors and meet American with Disabilities Act requirements.  The QL also has a 10-year mechanical warranty for ultimate customer satisfaction.
