A survey of National Center for Assisted Living members found that more than half of the facilities have a diminished supply of personal protective equipment., according to an article on The Manchester Times website.
Many facilities said they have less than a two-week supply of specific PPE and say that it’s a struggle to find theme.
More than 70 percent have asked for help from state and local health agencies, many are still forced to reuse PPE or rely on homemade supplies the article said.
To date, assisted living communities have not received any direct federal funding, PPE shipments or prioritization for testing (outside of some minimal state support).
