Ochsner Medical Center transferred approximately 40 critically ill patients to other facilities

Ochsner Medical Center Baton Rouge transferred approximately 40 critically ill patients to other facilities due to severe weather and flooding, according to the Ochsner Health System website.

The system monitored the water levels and the situation with local and state officials.

Medical personnel remained on site and the facility had power, water and adequate supplies to care for the remaining patients and staff.

Ochsner established a hotline for family members needing information on the new location of a patient.
